thinking about going a new direction....

So after owning something like 8 FWD Hondas, I have been thinking a lot lately about going a different route. May post up my K-Swapped Coupe FS to get out of debt, and start saving money. After I get some other bills paid and a sedan for the wife, I may hop into an S2000. Not sure what color, they all look good(except the yellow, I just don't do yellow) nor any real ideas for modifications, I know it will be low and wide, since it will not be my daily driver. I'll put up a few pics I've found today, that I enjoy looking at. Enjoy guys, and also thank you for checking out my blog. Spread the word.

Here today, gone tomorrow.

I was given permission by my friend to post up about his most recent build, he provided me a mod list, and pictures, I procrastinated. Now with the car being parted out, I figured I better get my ass in gear and put it up hahaha. So below you will vfind pics and the modlist of Edwins' 96 Civic Hatchback that he's built. When Edwin and I first came in contact with each other it WAS NOT on good terms at all. We had an online conflict for a while. One day I went to Supremacy Racing and saw a Midori hatch in the first bay, out from under the hood came a man introducing himself as "MidoriEKing" and with an outstretched hand he said whats up. We bullshitted for a few hours that day, I even helped(pretended) to place his hatchback on the U-Haul for transport back home. After that we started IM'ing and texting about ideas for both his hatchback and my busted ass coupe. He even texts me to give me first dibs on parts, that I can never afford hahaha but he gives me the chance to scoop them up first. I'm glad to have built the friendship I have with Edwin, and will continue to call him a great friend, even though he's selling his car lol Thanks for reading guys, enjoy, and spread the word thank you.

The Chronicles 2 Year Anniversary.

Over the weekend Joey Lee set up a meet to celebrate the two year anniversary of "The Chronicles"(stickydiljoe.com) a website that is known worldwide! Some heavy hitters from the West Coast Honda scene came out to support their friend and fellow Honda enthusiast celebrate the occasion. The cars that came out are what I would consider top notch, wonderful examples of how Hondas should be modified, in my opinion. Below are a few samples of the vehicles that showed up. You may even notice a very familiar looking car in the mix, stay tuned for a little Imposrtslut exclusive with that one for you Utahhondas members :) Enough rambling, on to the pictures, BIG thank you to DJMURDOK818 of NWP4Life for allowing me to use his pictures. See more of his great coverage here. Also feel free to check out his Flickr to see his most recent work. Also, of course check out The Chronicles.

Backyard Special

I'm back again, I hate that I suck at this blogging thing. I've been loving Backyard Special bumpers for almost forever hahaha so I wanted to just post up a few pics to show you all what I'm feeling at the moment. Everyone knows BYS as making these bumpers and the ugly spoilers they make for 92-95 hatchbacks, but thats just the beginning for BYS they offer chassis reinforcement, coilovers, spoilers, carbon trunks and much much more.

The Supremacy Racing Family has sustained another loss.

As most of you saw Monday, June 28, 2010, around noon there was an accident on I-15 which caused the freeway to be shut down. The reason for the closure was a fatal car accident, one in which a vehicle ended up against a barrier then heading backwards colliding with a sign pole. The driver of the vehicle was removed from the vehicle by passers by, one of which tried to administer CPR. The driver of the vehicle was 27 year old Tony Khanhnara. He was a member of this forum(Yayo), a friend to me, and many others, and family to Frank and Kel. Tony was born May 20, 1983 in Layton, Utah. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 2001. Tony was attending SLCC. He was a man of few words at most meets, but in a small crowd would light up a dark room with wisdom, witty remarks, and just random banter. He was deep into the import scene "back in the day," but had put the car things to the side to further his education and take care of his son, Thaivone. After getting settled into a good job at Associated Foods, he had decided to get back into the game, as we all refer to it, as if people who leave the honda world are "in retirement." He had huge goals for his hatchback, and we discussed them often, as if to get each other motivated to get our cars going. Tony will be missed and remembered by everyone he met. Enjoy heaven with Billy, but hopefully you two leave some of the good stuff for the rest of us.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:45 to 12:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. In lieu of flowers and gifts family would like donations to be made in the name of Thaivone Khanhnara at Wells Fargo Bank.

The hardest post I'll probably ever have to type.

As I'm sure you're all aware our dear friend Billy Payne passed away Tuesday June 22, 2010. I got the news via text message Tuesday afternoon, which was followed by me opening utahhondas.net and sure enough there had already been a thread created for Billy. I dropped my phone and collapsed to the floor, I was hit with the loss like someone threw a cinder block at my stomach. I was supposed to work that afternoon, but I took the day off, there was no way I could focus, on anything. I headed to Supremacy to check on Frank, Kel and the rest of the SR family, when I arrived you could feel it in the air, the loss was taking it's toll on everyone. We were all calm, and quiet as 5:30 rolled around, we placed an open Corona by Billys' welding equipment and told him "you're late." No one wanted to believe that he was gone.

I have countless memories of Billy, even though I only knew him a few years, he was always nice, and always smiling. One of the most humble guys I had ever met! I remember at the meet that was a little bit after he got his motor first tuned and made over 200whp on his B-Series, he just pulled up and parked, it was I who had to walk over and make him pop his hood to show it off, I had to announce the arrival of the "K-KILLER" he had in his bay, he just smiled and started laughing. Then as the crowd formed he politely answered everyones questions. Another one of my memories of Billy was at the 8 year Anniversary meet at Supremacy at the end of April, I pulled in and parked and walked away. Shortly after I heard Billy yelling "Slut, Yo, Slut!" So I asked "What Billy?" and he said "I'm moving my car down by the door, grab your car and park next to mine." No one knew but I felt honored to park next to Bad Ass Billy, and I was excited because I knew, parked next to his car I would also get a lot more attention hahaha.

Thank you Billy, for being a friend, to not just myself but to everyone you met! Billy was the most helpful person I had met, the nicest guy, and one of the best examples I had. One of my inspirations, not only in the car world and him inspiring to "step my game up" but also as a father, so when the time comes that I am a dad, Billy has given me a great example to add to my list of them.

I love and miss you Billy Payne, you will be remembered FOREVER.

The Meet of all Meets!

This past weekend was the annual Eibach meet in California, this meet has been dubbed the "Largest Honda Only Meet" and showcases hundreds of works of art. I hope someday to be able to attend and network some of the major players in the California import scene. Here are a few pictures that I found from the show, more pictures can be found here: http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2777185

A look at what inspires me.

First off sorry for the delay on this update, I'll try to update this more frequently for you guys.

This is going to be my first "what inspires me" post. Today you'll take a look at a gentlemans' build from NY, name is "Blazed" on H-T, K20a, etc I've been a fan of his car since I saw it back in 08 when he was rolling HARD with TA CE28s, a BYS bumper, shaved and tucked bay with what else, a K series. Needless to say I fell in love. When I started thinking about starting this blog I knew that I would post up some pics and parts of his build for you all to see. I reached out to him last week on k20a, and he graciously agreed to letting me use some of his pics to feature on my blog. His build thread is 20 pages long on k20a.org(which I will link at the bottom) so I won't be able to include everything but i'll try and give you all a good taste of what this K-swap King is doing.

His new build consists of:

IPS Spec JE 14.1 87.5mm pistons
IPS Spec Cunningham Titanium Rods
IPS Spec 99mm RDX Crank with widened journals ERL modified
ERL Superdeck K24 Sleeved/assembled
IPS KXV Camshafts
IPS Spec KXV Cylinder Head By MCPerformance with SuperTech valves, valvesprings, retainers
IPS Intake Manifold
Custom 321 SS header designed by Casey Heerman (Ekasey) / welded by DTR

So basically this car is going to SCREAM!!! Enough chatter I'll throw up a few pics now for you to enjoy-

Here it was back in 06

This is how it sat in 08, when it first caught my eye.

The look for 09.

This is how it looked 2/2010, it probably looks totally different now.

Such a sick car, I love everything about it. Nice work and dedication Blazed, keep it up!

As promised here is a link to the full build thread

http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=71618

And once again THANKS to Blazed for allowing me to show you guys what his build is all about, good luck with every veture you take on in the future man!
